The Swim Suit Body

I don’t know about you, but I’m pretty damn tired of hearing about getting people’s summer bodies!

In the upcoming months to summer, it was about the only thing I saw on social media from all different walks of life. I’m sure you’ve seen some of them too, maybe even shared one?

But what the hell even is a summer body? Someone in perfect health, chiseled abs and muscles most would be jealous of? This idea that we have to conform our bodies to a certain ideal to be ready for summer is just plain twisted. Are you meaning to tell me if I haven’t shredded every ounce of fat by summer I can’t be out there having fun like everyone else?

Wow, that’s some bullshit.

It’s not about the size you wear, but how you wear your size! Put on the swim suit, look in the mirror, and say “I’m going to rock the shit out of this bikini today!” Don’t waste another moment thinking you can’t wear or even do something because of your weight, cellulite, stretch marks, or just anyone who said you shouldn’t.

We need to learn to love and appreciate ourselves. Even if you aren’t where you want to be in life, this doesn’t mean you can’t accept and love yourself now too.

Take my weight loss journey for example.

It isn’t future me, 100lbs less, out there putting in the work every single day. It’s my definitely not summer ready self who decided to do the damn thing! For that, I have to give myself some credit.

So, even though my stomach is too round, my thighs thick and my arms flabby.. I’ll be rocking the shit out of my summer.

Because every body is a swim suit body.
